The National Cherry Blossom Festival commemorates the 1912 gift of 3,000 Cherry trees from Mayor Yukio Ozaki of Tokyo to Washington, DC and celebrates the enduring friendship between the people of the United States and Japan. Today, the festival spans 4 weeks and welcomes more than 1.5 Million people to enjoy diverse and creative programming that promotes art, culture, natural beauty and spirit! Added bonus: Almost all the events are free to the public!

It can get VERY busy during the months of March and April so make sure you plan ahead in order to be able to enjoy all the performances and events! Here are some great resources to help you get the most out of your visit:
